NOVECENTO [Salvator Rosa]

NOVECENTO [Salvator Rosa] is a site-specific work conceived for Salvator Rosa, an exhibition space located in a place unknown to the public that manifests itself only through the visual reproduction of what has been contained. Kinkaleri responds to the invitation with a performance in the form of a video, proposing a dynamic traversing of the space that in its unfolding, reveals the perimeters that contain it. A figure with a round mirror in hand is immersed in a physical and verbal score determined by the gestural translation of the name of the place. It acts space, rethinks volume, redefines boundaries.
Kinkaleri continues with NOVECENTO project, a path that summarizies the formal elements of body / time / space / mirror, as founding and unavoidable residues of a rich and exhausted last century, waiting to grasp the new.

Kinkaleri was born in Florence in 1995. The members meet, combining their experiences and previous studies gained in various fields, with the intention of carrying out specific projects, therefore urging the will to work around concrete ideas and always taking care of all aspects necessary for the creation of one’s own business. Kinkaleri operates between theatrical experimentation, research on movement, performances, installations, display, sound materials, seeking a language not based on a style but directly on the evidence of an object. The group’s work has received hospitality at numerous programs in Italy and abroad: theaters, contemporary art centers, festivals and exhibition spaces including the Triennale / Teatro dell’Arte - Milan, Teatro Fabbricone - Prato, Teatro Grande - Brescia , Sophiensaele and KunstHalle Deutsche Bank - Berlin, Pompidou - Paris, Kaaitheater and KunstenFESTIVALdesArts - Brussels, Pecci Center - Prato, Gulbenkian Foundation - Lisbon, Kitazawa Town Hall - Tokyo, Oriental Pioneer Theater - Beijing, Mercat de les flors - Barcelona, ​ La Batie Festival - Geneva, Santarcangelo Festivan - Santarcangelo, Palazzo Strozzi - Florence, Dance Biennale - Venice, MAXXI - Rome.

Since 2001 Kinkaleri has operational headquarters in Prato in the SpazioK, one of the spaces of the former Campolmi industrial area in the historic center of the city. Since 2013 the SpazioK is a Regional Residence Center developing artistic paths belonging to the different fields of creation and aimed at younger generations, it is also the place of is it my world? and Body To Be, a series of encounters curated by the company on the arts of the scene. The group is currently formed by Massimo Conti, Marco Mazzoni, Gina Monaco.
