Carico Massimo in collaboration with the Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Livorno, the City Museum - Location Pio Arte Contemporanea and the Ciampi Award, presents a collaborative that has as protagonists the award-winners Dora Garcia and Cesare Pietroiusti, along Fausto delle Chiaie, Iacopo Seri and Giuliano Nannipieri.

“Guests of this Museum” is the title of the book just published by Valige Rosse, of which the two artists are co-authors; the publication will be presented the same day in their presence, becoming the device from which a series of events will be activated.

The volume is dedicated to Fausto delle Chiaie, artist and author of the Open Air Museum, a work purchased by Garcia and Pietroiusti after his participation with the Museum in Exile at the Inadequate (Venice Biennale, Spanish Pavilion, 2011). The pages deal with the relationship between art and marginalization through images, texts and unpublished interviews, hence the idea of a ”voluntary exile as an exercise of freedom” and the radical nature of being inadequate, of which Fausto delle Chiaie is the paradigm.

For this reason, Carico Massimo dedicates an exhibition to him: within its spaces at the, the full version of the “Open Air Museum” will be presented, an inclusive museum that the artist has been running for more than twenty years in the streets of Rome in front of the Imperial Forums, welcoming hundreds of visitors every day. A daily questioning of the institutional symbol, the Museum, but also of the system of art and life.

During the inauguration evening, there is a lecture by Cesare Pietroiusti and Iacopo Seri on Dionysus, in which for each concept said one sip of wine.

Outside of Carico Massimo another presence welcomes visitors, the intervention of Dispersive Subazioni (alias Giuliano Nannipieri, an artist who was part of the Museum in Exile). It is entitled ”Da opera ad orinatoio: sacco di cemento incidentalmente caduto o monumento ai caduti sul lavoro”, a work that declares itself “against the monochromatic identity, against concentration, concentration (…)” that prefers “to stay under, under the action … therefore closer to passion, to passivities dispersed not overt: subactions … dispersive “(G. Nannipieri)
